The image faded, droplets dispersing, and Alys shot a grateful smile towards Deimos. She drummed her fingertips on her thigh as the warden spoke, up until Sascha reached up to nudge her hand, insisting on pets in order to distract her bonded. Stooping slightly, Alys scratched the behind the ursur’s ears as she thought. If both Deimos and Sunjata had seen the Family go, she had no reason to think that some remnants had stayed behind after their departure. Sunjata may have been held in thrall before, but Deimos had never given the seer cause to doubt. If he said they were gone, that would be enough for her.
But there were no answers to be found today, and there probably wouldn’t be tomorrow, either. For now, all they could do was watch and wait. ”I’ll keep an eye out on my travels,” she promised. ”If I see anything or hear anything - I’ll send word.” Or, as luck would have it, she would visit to deliver news in person. In the meantime, though, she straightened, leaving Sascha’s ear scritches for later. ”For now, I suppose I should be getting back. But I’ll visit soon.” A promise accompanied by a warm smile, and then a brief farewell, and then the seer and her companion were on their way again.
