Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Of course Remi was still inside. As it was, he'd taken to sleeping in the back room of his shop more often than not. And why shouldn't he? The shop was larger than the smallish apartment he'd picked out for himself, and given that he had no real reason to return back to the domiciles—not when he was going to stay up all night tinkering anyways—that it simply seemed to make sense to stay.
Even so, as the door opened and the bell chimed, Remi raised his head curiously at the sound. Of course he didn't have a clock to check, but the sun was almost nearly gone from the sky by this point, and surely only trouble would bring someone around at this hour. Setting down the tools he was using to try and create the spy-glass that Isla had mentioned to him, Remi poked his head out from behind the door to the back room. The interior of the shop was dark for the most part as he hadn't lit any lanterns given that he hadn't been expecting anyone. Squinting into the darkness he didn't see Archebold right away; not until he let his eyes shift to a hawk's so that he could see better.
Flinching slightly at the sight of the imposing captain having appeared so silently (other than the bell), Remi swallowed down a shaky laugh and wiped his hands off on his shirt. "Captain Cobb." He greeted with a small bow; a hangover from Northaven a commoner like Remi would probably never fully get rid of. With a tentative smile, Remi tilted his head slightly. "What can I do for you?"
