From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!

Deepfrost will soon be upon us - our first since the opening of the portal in the Fangs.
As you are all aware, this is a particularly dangerous time for us. For this reason, at the end of Leafchange the portal will be closed. No guards will be patrolling the pass between the Fangs and the Citadel, and nobody leaving or coming will be able to rely on the comfort of an escort. This is purely for safety as Deepfrost sets in.
The Hollowed Grounds have expressed an interest in sending some of their more vulnerable people here to Halo for the season, given the dangers that Longnight poses for those within the Grounds. I have granted this request - these citizens will arrive with their own supplies. Please be kind to them throughout this time.
If there are any questions, please write me at the Palace and we will arrange a meeting.
In relation to the news above about individuals coming to stay with us during LongNight, I would like some assistance preparing quarters for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Information about when and where can be found below.
The Deepfrost Shields, our Citadels guard, is looking for new members to train and protect the Citadel from any harm. Those who apply should be brave, ready to live in the barracks and commit to long hours and have some experience in fighting.
The position comes with room and board and can provide those looking for somewhere to belong a new home and family. It is a rewarding position.
Anyone interested please meet Captain Morgan Aristomache in the Citadel centre square any time in the afternoon for the next three days.
Thank you for choosing me as your Warden. I will endeavour to the best I can and a part of that is being as transparent as I can be with all of you. With that in mind, here are my current plans:
Over the next few days, I will be appointing a council. You will know who these people are and they should be able to help with their specialised areas.
With the Deepfrost temperatures having truly set in, we cannot hope to rebuild our Citadel before Flowerbirth. When the time comes I will be organising our rebuilding as much as possible: for now, we will focus on small repairs to houses and shops, fortifying what we do have in preparation for anything else that may come in the remaining half of the season.
Beginning in Flowerbirth, I will be holding seasonal meetings for everyone in Halo to attend and speak to the council if they so wish. If you wish to speak with me between these meetings, do not hesitate to ask when I will be available.
I am aware there was some alarm over my opinions on the Ascended. I want you all to be aware I will not be making any large or rash decisions too quickly and I am willing to hear the opinions and experiences of those who wish to talk to me.
For the moment, I am remaining as Captain of the Guard and training the guards when I can. If you would like to become a Deepfrost Shield, please come and see me or sign up on the sheet at the notice board.
We are strong and we will make it past these challenges.

LONGNIGHT SANCTUARY
Citizens of Halo,
While we normally rally together in homes for Longnight, the government is opening the Arcane Academy to all citizens and refugees due to the damages the Citadel sustained during the attack from Eirachi and the cultists. It will be warm, with plenty of room for anyone wishing to join.
In lieu of my mother's recent death, and using the training I've received from Eirachi to guide my methods, I will be assuming the role of Grand Sorcerer of the Arcane Academy; as per my inheritance right.
Construction on an office for the Department of Agriculture and the deep freeze storage facility will begin next week. All of those willing to help are welcome!

It has recently come to my attention there is a group known as 'The Order'. Anyone with information on this group will be rewarded for it if they come to see me in the council hall to share what they know.
I have discovered a potential cure to the disease that is afflicting our lands. However, it requires taking ten lilies that I believe have something to do with the Climb to a specific place in that region. If anyone has information about these flowers or has one in their possession, please let me know. Further, if anyone would like to assist in the search for the lilies, we need to collect many more of them.
