In his steady, steadfast way Hadama had pursued the tasks he had been given to earn his armor. It had required a great deal of thought and no little creativity, occasionally bolstered by the suggestions of others. Ronin's help in particular had been invaluable, and it was with deep, quiet satisfaction that the mermanta assembled his items on the shore of the island at the foot of the lighthouse, exactly one month since he had received his quest.

The owlbear pelt was laid out upon a flat rock above the reach of the surf, and a collapsible telescope was removed from its case and placed atop it. It was followed by a large candle, as big as Hadama's forearm, that was seated carefully in a nest of stones to one side of the pelt and then lit with avid curiosity thanks to a waterproof match. He watched it burn for a time, fascinated as always by the dance of flame so like and yet so antithetical to water, until the wax began to slowly drip down its sides. Shaking off its spell, he dug out a small, dehusked coconut from the net at his side. It fit well within his hand, full of life and great potential. And beside them all he placed the armlet that he had crafted himself, beaten silver in a serpentine spiral that would wrap around his bicep.

Lastly he placed his offering for the goddess herself: a round silver mirror, simple yet flawless, that reflected the stars above.

"Safrin," he rumbled, bowing his head in prayer. "I request your blessing, please."

Safrin
whisper my name into the sky
The starlight in the mirror's surface begins to shiver and pulse, emitting a soft mist the colour of lightning and accompanied by the scent of petrichor. Shifting and swirling it gradually begins to shape the goddess' body until she is standing barefoot on its surface. "Hello Hadama." She offers, her smile warm and her presence a radiant beacon upon the sands. "You certainly wasted no time." Said with no small amount of pleasure.

Reaching for the silver spiral and inspecting it only briefly - the goddess had no doubt of the fine craftsmanship - the remaining pieces brought by the King began to meld together until their essences thrummed with starlight and kinetic energy. Brighter and brighter they bloomed until it was nearly impossible to look at. All at once the glow ceased, revealing the silver bangle etched with constellations.

Hadama has received

Cira's Pithy Name here | Armour created from owlbear down. When not in use, retracts as a silver serpentine bangle etched with constellations. Can be activated telepathically.

Mist and the scent of clean, fresh rain rose before him and Hadama watched, reverent, as his goddess arrived, cloaked in grace and power. "Safrin," he murmured, bowing his head briefly before returning his gaze to her as she gathered the items together. A poet might have said they were inspired by her beauty or made a clever remark about their loyalty, but the mermanta let his actions speak for themselves. His heart and mind were open to the goddess, with nothing to hide from her and only a quiet pleasure at her approval.

With a touch of the divine and her own stars to add the final embellishments the goddess completed the requested armour and Hadama accepted it with solemn gratitude. "Thank you," he rumbled, sliding it into place on his arm. "It is perfect."
