yet my blood renders me a King
His first quest had taken two weeks; his second, a season. Sah felt somewhat disappointed in himself, but he was able to shove his doubts away in light of recent events. The last season had been a long winding path through twisting brambles, each prick of a thorn digging deeper than the last. He had stopped by the shrine in the Barrows and confessed the events of the Tournament at Safrin's feet, certain that she already knew of his accidental crime against Melita. Part of him had wished to truly invoke the starry goddess and seek her guidance on what to do next.
But Sah had yet to finish his quest, so he had refrained. Now, it was complete and if Safrin wished to speak to him about his unintended transgressions, he was ready. If not, he was simply glad to have completed the tasks that she had set for him.
Taking a deep breath, Sah entered the shrine and laid his offering down as he lit a candle. Today, he'd brought Safrin a white mink scarf that was so soft that he'd had to double-check he was even touching it as he worked on its completion. One of these days he'd need to offer the seamstress who continued to help him with these projects some kind of reward. She was an excellent teacher.
With his offerings placed, the Wild Thunder kneeled with a bowed head and prayed, "Safrin, I hope that you're well. I've completed the task that you set before me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to better prepare against our enemy."
