Starfall - Rules

Where the meteor crashed into the Arclight, a new island has formed about 2km away from Torchline's shores. Composed of strange, alien rock, the majority of the surface is a deep violet, porous stone giving way to a series of underground caves and tunnels. The meteor is home to dozens of void flora and fauna of unknown name and origin. The entire island hums with a dangerous energy and is enveloped by violent ocean storms that churn around its shores and peaks.

The Descent
A deep fissure in the porous stone opens like a wound in the island, leading deep into its violet belly. Set garishly aglow by the lavender light of various bioluminescent fungi and other plantlife, the air here seems thin and smells faintly of rot and old blood. Nothing here is safe to touch or brush against or even breathe, and numerous carcasses, large and small and in varying states of decay, litter the path down. Dragons, evidently, hunt their prey here, and at times drop things into the fissure from above. Some of the remains wear clothing and jewellery.
The Crush
There are numerous routes down from The Descent, all of them small and low and cramped. And they all converge into the same place; this is The Crush - a labyrinthine structure of organic tunnels, damp and crumbling in places, barely illuminated by the ghoulish lavender glow of void funghi and the odd crystal embedded in the stone. Whatever made these tunnels clearly slithered or burrowed its way through, coming back on itself in places. Where it goes is a mystery, and getting there will be a miracle.
The Breach
Suddenly, space, but the air feels no less cloying and wet. From the Crush opens a vast cavern wreathed in hot steam, and the distant roar of an Arclight-fed geyser makes it difficult to hear or properly navigate the area. All exists in a halo of clinging violet, and one too many steps in from the edge of the cavern will have you plunging into an underground lake, scalding and acrid and charged with the void. The flora and fauna are abundant here, but strange, warped by the potency of the energy, and something stirs in the deeper water. Dive beneath the geyser, however, and you may find yourself back in the cooling waters of the ocean.
The Antechamber
Beneath the weight of rock and water and tentacled horrors, this chamber is surprisingly intimate and even more surprisingly well-maintained. A beautifully sculpted room boasts an array of symbols etched into the stone, eldtritch and foreign to those born on Caido. They pulse as if in time with a heartbeat, and throughout the chamber are situated a series of strange, broken pods, as if something has hatched out of them from a deep slumber. A few other pods remain sealed and whole, but as far as you can tell, they are empty.
Omphalos
The very core of Starfall is dark, quiet, and unexpectedly small. This room is empty, though it looks as if it once held a considerable artifact at its centre. The stone in the floor is cracked now, though, as though something heavy has been uprooted, and the air is still and old, like standing in a mausoleum. There is little else to see here.
