Character of the Season
Once known as the Butcher of Whitebrim, he's now The Butcher of Dygra, stepping forward as the first created demigod of the Ancients. There is no question that Astaroth casts an intimidating silhouette. Tall, domineering and dangerous, if looks could kill you'd be dead already, but to get up close and personal with the Grounds' resident cannibal tells a much different story. Dripping with charm and clad in only the finest attire, Asta is a gentleman monster, as polite as they come and committed to his role as security for the Dusklight and those who have earned his loyalty. Be careful of that smile, though - those teeth are sharp.
Congratulations, Asta!

Flora races Kaisel down the spiral staircase with far less care than she’d shown on the way up, one hand catching lightly against the wall whenever her momentum threatens to send her sprawling forward. Her heartbeat thuds brightly through the bond between them, too full and fast to be contained beneath her ribs, and when she glances over her shoulder at him, her smile is all girlish joy and shining disbelief that Safrin had actually agreed.
The moment they spill back outside, Flora reaches for his hand and uses it to pull him towards her instead of the Sugartide. She rises into another kiss, catching his mouth with enough enthusiasm to send butterflies alighting wildly through her stomach, every one of them seemingly determined to beat its wings in time with her pulse. Her fingers curl into his shirt as she holds him there for another lingering second, reluctant to let the happiness become practical quite yet.
When she finally parts from him, she stays close, beaming up at him with her cheeks warm and her aqua eyes bright as sunlit shallows. "Okay, so.." Flora begins, already turning the question over as though the exact shape of it might determine the entire sky. "For our names, do we think full names, or just first names, or..?" |

Their pell-mell descent down the staircase feels like a disaster waiting to happen, but the sheer velocity of their unleashed giddiness outpaces the risk before it has a chance to trip them up. Skirting the edge of it as they do leaves him breathless as they teeter and then swing back into the safety of each other, stumbling out into the beach with all the invincibility of laughter and love.
His motion carries him a step in the opposite direction of her, attention snagged on the distant, tumbling thing, but she reels it back effortlessly. With the tug of her hand in his, he spins that half-step back towards her, curving as the motion of their arrival hasn't fully unwound from his limbs but feeds right back into bringing him to her. She rises up, and with a turn of his heel, he captures her and lifts, pulling the ring of her legs against him as the kiss deepens past their lips and spreads into the press of their bodies.
The bond feels incandescent, barely dimming even as breath dares to slip between them and words shove in with more insistence than he'd like. "Since everyone will already know who's wedding they're at, I think we only need first names." He yields his mouth to something more than testing her heat. "Although, it could be a way to announce our new last name, if we did full names."

Flora’s delight spills out of her in a bright, breathless laugh as the world turns around them, the sweep of movement so perfectly timed that it feels less like something they’ve stumbled into and more like a moment arranged specifically for them. Her arms wind around Kaisel's neck as she hums into the kiss, melting against him with no thought for balance or dignity when he’s holding her securely enough to make both seem unnecessary. Between the warmth of his mouth, the press of their bodies, and the incandescent happiness flooding the bond, Flora can’t imagine how anything could be more cinematic than this. It’s utterly perfect, and for once she doesn’t feel the need to improve it.
By the time she draws back enough to breathe, her cheeks are flushed and her smile has gone soft around the edges, though concentration slowly pinches between her brows as she considers his suggestion. Her head lolls gently from side to side, curls shifting against her arms where they remain looped around his neck. "Well, but since they don’t know we’re married, it’d be weird to give out our married name during the entrance," she points out, her nose wrinkling slightly before inspiration brightens her expression all over again. "Maybe once it’s official-official, we could have confetti pop out the new last name?"

His mouth pops open with an argument, then closes, then opens again with a breath, then closes. After impersonating a fish for a moment, he agrees with her hot take on the matter. "I suppose that could work, or maybe the cake topper has it." Although he considered it less that the name said who they are, but instead who they are becoming before everyone, he can agree it suits best at the end. "With sparkler letters," he adds on, imagining the little glittering burn of their joined name bathing the dessert table.
Lowering her back to the sand, content to stroll down the shore with her arm as they give their thoughts over to seashells and surf, he circles back. "So just our first names, then? Or our old last names too?" He glances over at her, drawn helplessly into the thoughtful shape her lips make when she's sorting through options. "Could be the last time to write them, and it would be fitting for it to be the end at our wedding. Although, that's not really who we are anymore."

A sharp flutter of wings announces itself far too close overhead, followed by the scrape of talons and the unmistakable sense that something has landed where it absolutely should not have. A Hel perches nearby, head cocked, eyes bright and calculating as it sizes up the scene.
It hops closer with a series of quick, impatient movements, letting out a short, grating call that sounds suspiciously like a demand, right down to the way it cranes its neck toward packs, baskets, or anything that might reasonably contain food. If ignored, it only grows bolder, wings flicking open as it makes a half-hearted lunge toward anything unattended.
When shooed away, the Hel takes to the air in an indignant spiral, only to settle again moments later a short distance off, clearly unimpressed and entirely unconvinced that the matter is settled. It watches with unwavering focus, occasionally edging closer, testing boundaries with the persistence of a creature that knows it doesn’t need to be threatening to get exactly what it wants.
Hels

Hels look vaguely like a species of seagull, but are quite friendly. Should one sit on your shoulder, you will find yourself suddenly able to walk on water! Be careful though, these birds are easily bored. Should they abandon you during an ocean-stroll, you will find yourself sinking into the water potentially hundreds of feet from the shore!

"Ooooooooooh." Flora nods at once, delight stretching the sound until it nearly becomes its own celebration. "That’d be super cute, yes." She can already picture the joined name sparking brightly above the cake, glittering long enough for everyone to see before dissolving into smoke and light, which feels exactly right for a reveal that’s been waiting far too long to happen.
Once her feet are back beneath her, she remains happily sagged against Kai rather than putting any real space between them, her arm tucked close through his as she matches each step along the shore. "I think just our first names?" Her nose wrinkles while she considers it. "I’ve already changed my last name once, and it isn’t like there are any other Flora and Kais getting married that day."
The sudden rush of wings pulls her attention sharply upward, and Flora hisses beneath her breath as the Hel swoops too close for comfort. Keeping one arm looped through Kai’s, she waves her free hand at it in a brisk, shooing motion.
