Zavien
I believe that the sun has risen,

He honestly hasn't gotten much sleep in the past few weeks. Between trips to other regions and the baby slowly growing out of her cute sleep phase, he's been catching naps where he can. And yet, Zavien hasn't looked this energetic since he was in his twenties. He moves with a lightness that can only be described as buoyant. His steps up the lighthouse are quick and floating, a laugh echoing up the stairs when he spots Sol through a window, the dragon keeping up with him despite the loops and dives he shows off.

When Zavien jumps over the last step, Sol is already perched on the window, trilling his victory for all to hear. The returning laughter has less breath than before but it's no less warm, his head shaking as he scratches the dragon along the soft portion under his chin.

Not wasting any time, Zavien pulls the offerings from the bag across his back. Among the flickering candles, he drapes a string of delicate shells that have been etched so that lights shine through star-shaped holes, their opalescent sheen making the outlines shine. Then he pulls out an orb created by the glassblowers of Torchline, made from the glittering sands of the Ahi Coast to house the very sand it's made of. It shimmers and sparkles in the evening light, scattering rainbows across the pales stones when he sets it atop the sill of the window.

He kneels onto the worn portions of stone, finally placing his sword in front of him as he takes a deep breath and calls out to the goddess. "Safrin, I know I won't always be able to protect my family," gods know he was helpless during the labor and there will be plenty more times where a sword wouldn't be able to stop the hurt, but he places a hand over his chest where the gentle beat of a heart sits against his own, "but I appreciate your help in strengthening the tools you've given me." His head dips in gratitude.

Zavien is turning in his quest to upgrade his Starblade in I'm doing it for you.

1. Complete 2 training threads. One where someone else uses his sword against him and burns him with it, and one where he burns someone.
- [Training] boy drama is sillier than a drama llama - burned Kai
- [Training] what is life without a few pot holes? - got burned by Liam

2. Complete a thread using the sword against a Flora/Fauna with a difficulty rating higher than Difficult. (He does not need to kill the F/F or finish the fight)
- [SE] good will hunting - hit the Labyrinth (Impossible difficulty) in post #12 then ran

3. Complete a thread considering the limits of what he would/wouldn't do to protect his new family.
- love the way your love keeps me up high - talked/thought about what he would/wouldn't do
not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

Safrin
The evening light finds new places to fracture as Safrin arrives, caught first in the shells Zavien has so carefully strung and then in the glittering curve of the glass orb, until the shrine seems momentarily filled with small, scattered constellations. She takes shape among them as if called not only by his voice, but by the shimmer of everything he has brought her, her gaze moving with warm approval from the opalescent shells to the captured sands, and then at last to Zavien himself.

"How lovely," she murmurs, the words soft but no less bright for it, before her smile deepens into something fond as her eyes drift briefly to Sol.  Her attention returns to Zavien as he kneels, and though there is amusement still glimmering faintly at the edges of her expression, what follows is gentler and far more knowing. "Understanding ahead of time what you are willing to sacrifice, and what lines you will not cross, will make moments of great conflict much easier." Safrin lets the words settle between them like starlight upon water, beautiful and clear, but carrying weight enough to sink. "Not painless, of course. Never that. But easier."

Then her gaze lowers to the sword where celestial light gathers around the blade, silver and radiant, threading over steel in luminous ribbons before brightening until the weapon seems less held by the stone than suspended in the heart of some distant star. For a moment, the shrine is filled with the soft hum of power, and then the light sinks deep into the sword, vanishing beneath the surface as though it has always belonged there, waiting only to be remembered.

Safrin lifts her chin slightly, satisfaction curving her mouth. "There," she says, radiant and warm once more. "May it serve you well when gentler hands are not enough."

Zavien has completed his quest and his Starblade has been upgraded to mastered
