storm's comin', I can see the clouds
Danta has just balled up his shirt and set it alight when Asta's warm touch caresses his cheek, the Maverick immediately dropping the flaming fabric to turn into the sensation "Mm, I wish I could say it'd be the last time," he says, apology lacing through his tone. Unfortunately it seems to be one of those monsters that will live under Danta's bed for good, or at least for a good long while; centuries as stone don't create the same distance as a lived passage of time, and his traumas are still startlingly close to the surface.
"You're already helping," he mumbles, raising his hand to cover Asta's fingers as they drop to the corner of his mouth, Danta turning his head to kiss them. "Thanks for coming to look for me," he continues, stepping in and against the Butcher's chest, arms looping gently around his waist. "I'm just... tired, now. I feel hungover, if that makes sense."
The high of his bloodlust and the comedown following it, especially not satisfied in the way he'd have preferred, naturally leaves him feeling strung out, restless and not entirely right.
