He becomes the best little actor of a nervous and curious prey animal. The glint of fur and the quiet rustle of the predators have him on alert, falling into the trap of freezing up temporarily to try and listen, dark cupped ears flit back and forth to try and snag the direction of which they might decide to launch themselves.
Thalassa moves first, though, launching at one of the wolves Asta has spotted, but rather than sit back and enjoy the show, the Butcher bolts forward right as he sees the second wolf trying to cut off the escape point. And while for most deer this would be likely akin to a death sentence, the demigod is quite satisfied as he lowers his horned head wreathed in flames and surges for the wolf to try and impale it.
