The huff that follows comes from Flora and Spice at almost the same time, both of them shaking their heads at him with such perfect shared disappointment that it feels rehearsed, though it absolutely isn’t.

"No, of course not," she says, tucking herself closer against his back with shameless satisfaction. "But a good queen knows how and when to take advantage of a situation."
