Kaisel
It takes Kaisel a moment to understand he didn't just have a stroke. Remi so casually tossing out his aquatic prowess feels like he just got side swiped by a conversation, already forgetting half the bullshit he tossed out in an effort to cover up his big mouth. Although his voice doesn't give him away, the what? swallowed down, his features turn entirely too quizzical and lost for a moment before the realization hits and rolls them away to something more appropriately impressed. "W—wow. That's neat!" He dips his nerves into enthusiasm, a much more familiar ground for him.

There's a mud slide or some shit though, because all at once he feels entirely out of place again when Remi rounds a look at him. His scalp prickles, sweat threatening to bead at one of his temples, and a nervous, thin laugh shakes loose like the last couple pennies from a piggie bank, a bit shy of being able to afford the candy bar. "Oh, pffft," he offers in such a quick assurance it has to be convincing. He even flops a wrist at Remi, as if conducting his body might get his voice more in tune. "Definitely just mixed up my words. Happens sometimes," he says taking said flaccid wrist and spinning its palm to slap his forehead instead now. "Dummy me." Being mistaken for early Alzheimer's or mental incapacities is, 100% better than having his father-in-law hear about his blow jobs.

The shift of Remi's gaze feels like a savage weight being removed from him, and Kaisel's spine rediscovers its proper s-curve from the ramrod-straight approach it'd been taking. After a beat, his head turns faintly, following the Bastion's eyeline. Reaching out to straighten said crooked painting, Kaisel shakes his head a little. This at least is easy footing. "Oh, no, she stayed here. I went up to help my cousin Noe for a little bit. She's moving to Hak Etme, but it's so wild still they're dealing with a lot."

Outside, a Hel collides with one of their windows, gangly legs and wings flailing as it stumbles back onto the sill. It's a loud enough sound that Kaisel's head jerks around, but he only offers the dazed bird an eye roll before his attention swings back to Remi, and namely, the bag of sand he's tossing about like they're going to start a game of hacky sack. "Didn't expect to be fighting something so big and ugly up there, so appreciate you and Ronin answering our calls for help. You two really did a number on it in short order." He nods his chin towards the bag and steps in closer. "I actually wanted to talk to you about that though. When we killed it, it just...crumbled into sand. That's all that remained. I wondered if you had any old alchemy tricks worth doing to see what that shit is made of."
And when the day broke, buried in violence
Somethin' made my mind up
I could do this with my eyes closed
Wearing a watery blue, faded and stretched-out sparkling hair tie on his left wrist
