DEIMOS
ache first, but then let the cuts close
spit out the blood

His brow quirked upward at her pause, and subsequent statement, perhaps giving himself some inward sigh of relief that he hadn’t been too farfetched in believing it concerning. That was how things seemed to work in Caido. Brief glimpses of things, before the inevitable swing and rush. Try as they might, it was difficult to get the footholds in without the whole barrage of knowledge, so there they were again, either investigating something minor or the beginnings of another major maelstrom. “If it were just one, most could probably chock it up to a strange dream,” because many had experienced those – an inevitable thing in the midst of slumber. Or, like himself and several others, had been bombarded with prophetic edges beforehand, either courtesy of gods or something else. “But with so many of us,” he shrugged, like trying to roll it off his shoulders might ensure it didn’t anchor so tightly there. “Seemed odd.” Not wanting to wholly raise an alarm, but certainly enact upon one’s senses. “Let me know if you do hear of anything else suspicious. Who knows, nowadays.”
Striving not to bring the edges into dour and sour constraints, he snorted at Idalia, making gleeful noises towards the departing treeflits, as if her voice might chase down and wrangle the colors from leaving. “Halo is well. We have altered a few things – temperature, made some upgraded changes to defenses,” which wouldn’t surprise her in the least, given who he was and the world that could survive so much cold. “The family is good. Evie is still improving on our medical wings, and Amhran and Erebos have grown. The latter brought himself to a shrine – said he wanted to help with things,” he sighed, having accepted it but still discontent on parts of a childhood lost, however sharp, fragile, or fleeting. Regardless, the Sword grinned, proud, despite all the misgivings. “So he is 7 now, has his own companion. Smart, outgoing, friendly. If you meet him he will probably try to write you letters after.” Tilting his head a fraction, the curiosity remained, though not of Talyson, but of Alys and all her ventures. “Everything else going well? How is King’s End?”

then let your soul do the same
