The water balloon interrupts a group of warblers, and Aithne snorts at the resultant shrieking. They sound much better this way, she thinks as she selects another water balloon. But much of the crowd has dispersed now, leaving Aithne disappointed as she begins her hunt for a new target. "Oh, sure, that makes sense to me." She notices a child waving up at them, jumping up and down, and launches the balloon towards them; they squeal with delight as they're drenched, bringing a smile to Aithne's face anew.
"I like your games," she continues as the child waves and runs back to their parent, who looks exasperated. "They're always a good time, and there's always some twist I don't expect." Maybe it's just because she lived a boring life before becoming an Ancient, but the games she's participated in have been exciting and new. "Is Ludo like that too?" she wanted to know. "Full of unexpected surprises?"
