Life is a grand adventure.
Nova had expected Halo to warm somewhat with the new season, but the cold hung tight on every surface. It had sunk deep into her bones during the search with Noah, exhaustion trailing the chill like a plague on her body. She hadn't known trapsing across Halo would be so draining, but her tide jaguar limbs had quickly become too heavy. Despite the beautiful rainbow rosettes, the thin black fur meant for water was doing little against the sharp breezes or the snowbanks swallowing her paws. Her jaw had turned sore as it clenched tight, her head and tail hanging low until another sensation prickled at her - a new sensation.
She paused, ear flicking once as she investigated the shape. A small spark of energy used the curiosity as tinder, flaring excitement to warm her chest. Never known for her caution or delicate touch, she reached greedily for the shift, a flicker of glittering light flashing across the snow as she shrank. A pink nose twitched between her eyes. Whiskers moved with it, brushing against the snow she'd been towering over moments before.
When she gave a familiar bounce of delight, Nova flew higher into the air than anticipated, landing out of the divot to stand atop the snowbank. Intrigued, her ears perked, their weight pulling strangely at her head. A vibration wiggled up her spine, and when Nova looked, she spotted a small puff of a white and gray tail on her behind.
The fur was thicker than her tide jaguar, the limbs lighter, and she let out a giggle into the Attuned bond, enjoying this new shift - whatever it was.
Recognizing that she was near the coast, she wondered if she might find a patch of ice to inspect her new appearance, beginning to hop her way towards the blackened sand and glacial waters.
