Only this isn't a visit this time, so it makes sense to keep his understanding of things sharp. "Mm, they are happy. Might be we take on some extra crew now as well - old crew who stayed when we left the islands." Jack hadn't blamed them and nor had he held it against them, but he's no fool; he knows that no matter what loyalty had bound the remaining men to The Ark, being back here is going to raise spirits and keep them high.
As for Safrin, Jack nods casually as he refills his coffee cup. "Only seems right for it to be her. Besides, you ain't ever been on this side of a lighthouse." And the view from up there is something.
