Likely from surprise and shock, but Deimos’ gaze narrowed, warnings everywhere with no subtlety required, while he offered low rumbles and turned her back over in the carrier, checking her to ensure no damage had been orchestrated; bewilderment the source of it all.
On a huff of a sigh, she seemed to quiet down, and he shook his head, placing the crown back down on the table as he went to mollify and appease. “Yes,” he signified at first, offering a few more berries as a distraction and watching as the tears changed into quiet sniffles. “There. No harm done,” he murmured to her, taking a long breath and trying to redirect the barrage of shielding and protective filaments pulsing through his veins.
