"Instead, you merely frightened away the creatures that had made their homes in the valley and fields. You made the area intentionally inhospitable to them rather than attending to their needs and relocating them to equally suitable homes."
Their attention shifts towards the future course of the river, where only mortal powers have been used to cleanse the ground. Rae tilts their heads in unison. "What use were the unicorns you gathered," they ask together, "if not to purify the area?"
