Character of the Season
Once known as the Butcher of Whitebrim, he's now The Butcher of Dygra, stepping forward as the first created demigod of the Ancients. There is no question that Astaroth casts an intimidating silhouette. Tall, domineering and dangerous, if looks could kill you'd be dead already, but to get up close and personal with the Grounds' resident cannibal tells a much different story. Dripping with charm and clad in only the finest attire, Asta is a gentleman monster, as polite as they come and committed to his role as security for the Dusklight and those who have earned his loyalty. Be careful of that smile, though - those teeth are sharp.
Congratulations, Asta!

His name from her lips isn't something he's been able to enjoy since before she possessed a voice with which to scream it, and suffice to say Jack is of the opinion that they've got plenty of time to make up for in that respect. The beach, the boards and the heat rolling off the sand all blurs into something unimportant compared to the feel of her, The Ark's thoughts combusting into brief satisfaction chased by a still smouldering hunger, and he can do nothing more than chase the feeling as far as it will stretch.
"I am," he mutters, the humour in his words only barely there, his mind almost fully consumed by the siren beneath his hands. She arches back beautifully against him, his fingers thoroughly tangled in her crimson locks, and whilst she grips for purchase against the serving hatch Jack is quick to bully his free hand between her thighs, taking over where she left off to tease her to new heights.
Every thrust is deep and hard enough to send pain nipping on the heels of pleasure, the few items on the walls of the booth knocking dangerously close to loose with every snap of his hips, and suddenly this feels as much about laying claim to Torchline between them than a quick burst of pleasure that couldn't wait.

The scrap of humour still clinging to Jack’s voice feels almost like a challenge, and The Ark answers it by abandoning any pretence of merely holding herself steady. She drives herself back into him with every movement, meeting his force with her own until the booth shudders around them and the world beyond the serving hatch breaks apart into flashes of white sand, hard sunlight, and the glittering Arclight. If he has enough thought left to be clever, then she clearly hasn’t demanded enough of him yet.
With his hand taking over the pleasure between her thighs, she reaches back and hooks her arm around his shoulders, pulling him closer until his chest is locked against her back. Her fingers plunge into his freshly cut hair and close hard, testing the length they had so carefully chosen and dragging sharply enough to make her approval unmistakable. He needs no encouragement, but she gives it to him anyway, matching him with a hunger that turns every collision between them into another declaration of ownership over the city waiting outside.
Something immense begins to move beneath the dark waters of her mind. It has been stirring there since the fountain, gathering mass through every promise and stolen touch, but now it rises like a leviathan from the depths, displacing everything in its path. Sensation sparks along the insides of her thighs and tightens through her body until her toes curl inside her boots, the pleasure climbing too quickly for any thought to remain coherent beyond Jack.
She doesn’t waste her breath telling him to continue when he can feel exactly how close she is. Instead, his name leaves her again, broken open by a moan as her back arches against him. The Ark shifts her hips with ruthless precision, finding the angle that sends the last of her restraint scattering, and the sound torn from her carries through the open hatch toward the beach as she waits for his expert guidance to send her directly into this particular storm rather than away from it.

Siren's Wake | After she leaves a space, traces of her presence linger briefly: a faint scent of salt, the sound of distant water, a restless feeling in the chest. People rarely notice it consciously.
It might not be enough for The Ark yet, but she's demanding plenty of him thus far, so much that it doesn't take long for the last of his concentration to melt into an unbridled need for more and for his hands to grow rougher in her hair and between her thighs. Only as her arm hooks around his shoulders does Jack release the tight hold he's had on her tresses, sending them toppling forward for a second as his hips buck deeply into her.
His fingers cover her own on the ledge now, pinning her hand there even as the waters of her mind grow ragged with pleasure, something dark and deep and wild rising from the depths to consume her whole. She doesn't need to warn him and Jack doesn't need to hear it - one of the best parts about this is what goes unsaid. No performance to make it seem appropriate, no teasing or coaxing; just raw pleasure that needs no preamble, such that as he realises how close she is, no part of the Captain feels it necessary to slow down.
The broken echo of her cry of pleasure has a few hels taking flight across the beach, has a few heads turning back up on the paths too, but even if they were in range of his magic Jack wouldn't have paid them any mind. He cums less than a second after The Ark does, drawing her up and against him further, hips stuttering with each sharp wave of ecstasy. Breathing harder than he'd given himself credit and seeing little but the halo of light where the sun meets the sea, whilst it might be morbid thing to consider, Jack realises that this would be the best time for someone to try to kill him, if they were planning to do it.
Funny how the mind works.

Whatever has risen from the depths of The Ark’s mind devours her without mercy, dragging Jack’s name from her again and again until it is no longer confined to the cramped booth or the breath between them. Her siren power catches each broken cry and carries it outward over the sand, giving it impossible reach until the sound rolls across the beach like a summons. Heads turn along the paths and startled hels scatter into the sky, but there can be no mistaking who has wrung such a sound from her or whose name she is offering so shamelessly to Torchline.
Her fingers spread beneath Jack’s as he pins her hand to the ledge, accepting the pressure and the claim of it while the waters of her thoughts remain a violent, glittering churn. Sensation breaks through her in diminishing waves, each one leaving her looser against him until awareness begins filtering back through the chaos. The Arclight sharpens beyond the hatch, sunlight returning to the edges of the world as the leviathan sinks slowly beneath the surface again, sated for now.
The Ark relaxes by degrees, though satisfaction still hums through every part of her as she untangles her fingers from Jack’s newly cut hair. She gives the tousled strands one final, appraising tug before looking back at him with a thoroughly wicked smirk. "The length is good."

Sense returns slowly, and when it does Jack is more aware of the warmth of the body against him than the sunshine or the waves lapping at the shore, his arms sweeping around The Ark as if to hold her more securely whilst they consider straightening up from the hatch. Breathing a laugh against her curls, he tilts his head into the final tug she gives his hair before nodding his approval. "I thought so too," he mutters, and that goes for any and all innuendos related to length.
It's a further few moments before the sound of their heartbeats starts to grow quieter than the rush of the sea, and only when it does is Jack content to start to let the redhead go. "Reckon this booth's got good luck now," he declares, leaving a warm kiss against the back of her neck before carefully stepping back, and hitching up his pants. "Or it might collapse the second we leave - I ain't stickin' around to find out."
Buckling his belt and leaning out of the hatch as if to check for people (despite not needing to), once the coast is deemed clear Jack tips her a wink and offers his hands to give her a boost back over it.

The Ark’s laugh comes softly while she is still catching her breath, and she lets herself settle back into Jack’s hold rather than immediately trying to straighten. She can see little more than the edge of his face from the corner of her vision, but his warmth surrounds her completely, and the waters of her mind stretch smooth and endless toward the horizon in answer.
When she finally lifts her hands from the counter, a pale saltwater print remains in the stained wood, shaped perfectly around her palm and interrupted only by Jack's ring that she wore. The sight earns a private curl of satisfaction before she pulls her pants back into place and runs both hands through her hair, fluffing the disordered maroon lengths around her shoulders. "Felt sturdy enough to me," she sighs contentedly, unaware that later that day the booth will be declared the perfect hideout by a pair of twins who'd chased a crab inside.
Accepting Jack’s offered hands, The Ark lets him boost her through the serving hatch and lands lightly on the other side. She stretches both arms high above her head, her whole body lengthening through the delicious pull of thoroughly used muscles, before slipping back against his side and threading her arm through his. "While I was in the market, I saw a woman wearing the most gorgeous leather." The memory spills obligingly into the waters between their thoughts, showing Jack a rich brown dress shaped close through the waist by a corseted bodice, the leather supple enough to move rather than merely wrap around its wearer. "She said it was ursur?" The Ark’s brows draw together slightly over the unfamiliar word. What she knows of Halo’s enormous white predators has all come second-hand, and none of it has included whether they make particularly good dresses.

"Good to know," Jack rumbles, smirking and boosting her easily over the serving hatch - and not bothering to hide the way his eyes linger on her either as he follows suit. "If it does stay standin', maybe we'll have to pay it another visit one day soon." You know, since they won't be leaving Torchline's shores immediately for a long while yet, or permanently ever again with luck.
She fits back against his side like she was always meant to be there, Jack leading the way back to the marketplace and the variety of booths, boutiques and other clothing stalls rampant throughout Haulani. "Ursur, huh?" he echoes, fishing in his pockets for his cigarettes and placing one, already lit and smoking, between his lips.
"You wanna go to Halo an' get some for yourself? Or would you be happy to go browsin' here for it at a premium?" he asks, a hint of roguish challenge in his eyes as he offers her the cigarette.

The Ark shakes her head, a wolfish grin spreading across her face. "What, with so many others left to try?" Her nose wrinkles as she laughs, because returning to the same booth twice would feel almost unimaginative when all of Torchline lies open around them now. There are alleys, beaches, fountains, boltholes, and any number of locked doors waiting to prove whether they are as sturdy as the first.
The prospect of Halo wipes the amusement from her expression almost immediately. She wrinkles her nose again, this time with genuine distaste, and gives a decisive shake of her head. "I really don’t." She has only just escaped the cold and returned to water that doesn’t threaten to freeze around her hull; no amount of beautiful leather could tempt her back into the cold so soon.
Accepting the cigarette with a wink, The Ark draws in a long drag before letting the smoke curl lazily from her lips. "Let’s see what we can find here. If nothing else, I’m sure that merchant from last year would be happy to source some for us, if only so he has an excuse to talk to me again that won’t get him killed." Her gaze lifts to Jack, fully aware that having a legitimate reason to approach her and being safe from the Captain’s temper are two very different things.
