Aithne
The ties were black, the lies were white
It’s midnight and the shrine is dark, onyx stone seeming to absorb rather than reflect the torchlight flickering throughout the room. Rubies and other gemstones sparkle, winking in and out of sight, tempting worshipers closer with their periodic glints and glimmers. It is to one such gemstone that Aithne is drawn now, peering at the ruby the size of her palm as it glitters with firelight. She’s always been attracted to sparkly things, and this shrine is full of them.

But that’s not why she’s here. Straightening from her perusal of the stones ornamenting the shrine, the girl makes her way to the altar. Drawing a blade from a sheath on her thigh, she grips the knife’s edge and slices a deep gash across her palm. Placing her hand atop the altar, blood wells between her fingers as she take a deep breath, ignoring the stinging pain in favor of the hope that she will see her patron deity soon.

”Dygra,” Aithne calls, her voice a sweet singsong as she attempts to bring the goddess to the shrine. ”I want to make a shrine for you in Hak Etme. Can you help me?”
