DEIMOS
And in your darkest hour,
I hold secrets flame
Fatigued and restless, exhausted but determined, they clambered to the shrine with offerings and bowed heads, the missions and tasks completed. Amidst the chaos, bedlam, and strife of the past days (weeks?), they’d still prevailed in one way or another. Were he another individual altogether, the Sword might not have wondered if they’d been swifter, could they have avoided all the damage lingering amidst Halo – or would it not have mattered at all, given how the elements had chosen to strike?

A food for thought, alongside the peaches, the cream, and the solidarity in their bones. The winter world had been resolute and stalwart once more, aiming to instill the additional portions to the dome, to shield the Citadel from whatever else lurked from within Caido itself. Glancing at Evie and granting another small, tired smile, he then turned his gaze downward, beginning the rumble in his throat. “Frey, thank you again for the opportunity you have granted us.” A broken record perhaps, but the gratitude was eternally there. “We have completed our tasks.”

This is a RQ Turn-In from this initial thread: solid and awake and true

Tasks. There is no time limit. There are currently 13 active Halovians. This means 6 unique characters have to participate. Characters can participate more than once. Deimos and Evie must participate in at least 2 threads.

- 3 threads of Halovians 'catching rainbows' in different, naturally occurring pools of ice, snow or water. Rainbows can be 'caught' in nets or with hands:
Ice: Evie, Alys - {RQ} suspend your disbelief
Snow: Deimos, Sah - {RQ} bending everything
Water: Soleil, Talyson - when hands get dirty {open seasonal event}

- A ME deciding how best to trigger Frey's 'rainbow gate' and how, if at all, it can be stopped. Also, should the gate be more offensive or defensive in nature?
{Mini Event} {RQ} make these bones your own

- A PQ of 4 Halovians creating a Rainbow Gate. This can be made out of any material. Choose your location carefully.
{PQ} {RQ} heavy hands and light work - Evie, Deimos, Sah, Alys

- A thread of at least 3 Halovians leaving offerings for Frey at the Citadel. (This should be done at the Citadel board and not the shrine itself).
{RQ} How the times change - Sah, Hotaru, Soleil

EVIE
I want your midnights
The inside of the Citadel had been blessedly spared most of the damage, only the quake of the impact having reached within the walls, so the shrine remains untouched. Evie holds her offerings in her arms, shoulder brushing against Deimos' like they are helping each other accomplish every step, holding each other vertical. It's not far from the truth given how much time and energy they have been pouring into Halo since the impact.

As she kneels - grateful for the chance to rest - she places a set of unconventional offerings upon the shrine. Tokens, toys, letters; all things she has received from injured Halovians as gratitude for her healing and her work. Halovians alive in part because of Frey's continued support and response to their prayers. She unfurls a few tenderly carried blooms as well, placing them on top of the trinkets and parchment. Blossoms that had come from the swathe of greenery she, Alys, and Deimos had planted outside the Citadel walls to control the flooding and erosion near the gates for foreign aid to arrive safely.

"We have decided as a region that we would like the barrier to be defensive in nature, and activation tied to citizenship if possible." Brushing hair out of her eyes, she tries to make herself more presentable when it reminds her that she must look rather bedraggled. "Otherwise, it can be activated from the covered pedestal we built, with an inherent cooldown for deactivation." Hopefully it could be done, but if not, she is certain Frey will guide them true.

Frey
"I regret that this could not have come to you sooner." Frey is apologetic as they appear, and whilst the offerings are (as always) appreciated, this time they do not sample any of them. "May this aid you and your region."

And if nothing else, as the rainbow gate appears within the Citadel ready for use, a wave of calm and restful energy will drape across Evie and Deimos like a blanket, leaving them restored for whatever comes next.

Halo has completed its RQ and has received the following upgrade!

Rainbow Gate | If activated by a character with Halovian citizenship, the rainbow gate can target 1 60ft sphere anywhere within Halo. Protects those within for 2 posts. Requires a 5 post cooldown between uses. Must be deactivated by a character with Halovian citizenship.

This will be added to the description of the Citadel.

Frey’s words ghosted through him like a vice; for he felt much the same. The regrets and rues would continue to persist well into his heart and soul, and remain there for a good long while, despite this moment of success.

He didn’t expect any more of the kindness descending upon them, but the calm, restful poignancy nestling through his form certainly wasn’t from his own apprehensive and tightened frame, so he glanced upward, nodding, giving a respectful smile in the corner of his mouth. “Thank you for everything.” Which he meant – always had – because this was still a way to forge and iron and steel their terrain – they just hadn’t been quick enough.

From now on though, it would matter.
