Appearance
Alea has long, curly, often very tangled black hair; tan skin; brown eyes with monolids. She is skinny but has some muscle; she looks underfed and a little stunted. It's not a great leap to assume that she's struggled to survive.
Personality
After living so long as an owl, Alea has little idea how to act human. She alternates between a predator's preternatural quiet and a child's chatter, the latter usually directed at Ludo, whom she regards almost as an imaginary friend. Her moods are mercurial, and she may resort to violence or flight at a moment's notice. Yet her view of the world is still quite childish, and she often acts much younger than her age.
History
Alea's childhood in the Hollowed Grounds wasn't particularly happy. Her parents leaned towards neglectful as they tried to scrape out a miserable life within the barrier. When the barrier came down, it took a while for her parents to notice that Alea had scampered off into the Greatwood. Unable to mount a search in Fae territory, they settled for vaguely hoping for her return; it never came.
Like many non-Fae visitors, Alea became lost in the Greatwood; like an unlucky few, she never found her way out. But Alea counts herself lucky: as she grew weak from hunger, thirst, and exposure, Ludo took pity on her and Attuned her, changing her into an owl that could survive where a young girl could not.
