Appearance
Many would look at him and think him as a scrawny kid, and honestly, they'd be right. Belril was not one to be known for physical ability of any real sort, though not through any real fault of his own. Black, untamed curls framed a pale, bony face. Dark-brown eyes almost always find themselves watching the world around him, half in caution, half in constant curiosity.

He always preferred wearing black clothing of a sturdy sort, though it's more for practical purposes than fashion. It's easier to hide damaging alchemical stains against dark clothes, after all. He's almost always seen with a set of goggles above his head, likely to shield his eyes when working on his alchemy incase things get...explosive.

Underneath his clothes, he has a myriad of scars from the multiple times something has tried to kill him when he was living on his own, his own small form and the ability to heal in a pinch being his only saving graces at times.

Personality
Not one for physical ability, Belril's had to learn to rely on cleverness and the occasional ability to heal himself and others at moments. However, cleverness combined with curiosity often times finds him in situations that are normally equal amounts good and bad for him, such as tripping over a rock to hit the ground on his face, but uncovering something just underneath the dirt of value. He also tries to hide his magic, making it seem like his power comes in the form of various alchemical work he tries to perform. He's not the most-successful yet, but he's still young and learning. He is also, however, still very much a teen, so it's possible that this normally-shy kid may change greatly over time...
History
Belril was born to a pair of steadfast Accepted native to Torchline with quite the collection of magical goodies, a duo that absolutely refused to bow to either the Old or New Gods for their own selfish benefit. At first, the pair had groomed him to be much like them, steadfast in their refusal to kneel to any one set of gods in hopes of him adding to their family's collection of divine-ordained treasures. At first, it looked like he was going to be just like them, a thought that pleased his parents...until they ended up seeing him healing with magical power the pained wing of a fallen bird at the age of seven.

Horrified by the possibility that the gods would stop favoring them if they continued to care for him, they tricked the poor boy into thinking the family was going for a trip without saying where a few days later. Curiosity got to him and, Belril never thought anything bad would happen during such a trip. He had no reason to, after all.

The trio went up to Halo, and while the cold made him shiver a lot, the unusual magical nature of the place captured his curiosity and imagination and without thinking on it, he wandered into the town. Only after several minutes did he realize his parents did not follow him and discovered that he had completely lost them. An elderly woman found the lost boy before taking pity on him. "Come, child," she said in a gentle voice. "Come meet others like you."

Unsure of what else to do, he followed after the lady, finding himself being led to what looked like an orphanage filled with other children that seemed capable of doing things like he was. "Some parents will not tolerate our kind and will instead Abandon us," she explained as she led him to a bed for now. "So, I take in those children and care for them myself. None of us chose to be as we are, why be punished for it?"

The last few years, Belril began hearing of a place called the Hollowed Grounds and a strange group of people known collectively as the Outlanders. Hearing about how greatly they varied compared to the people of Caido, he wanted to learn more about them, how the worlds they came from were different from here.

One day after his 16th birthday, he found a well-packed bag of travel supplies on his bed and a note: "It is time for you to leave the nest and make something of yourself. The Hollowed Grounds are dangerous, but I can see you doing well in such a place if you take care of yourself. Good luck, I suspect the gods might be more on your side than normal."

Unlike before, when travel between places would always be by some means of transporation like wagons and beasts of burden, there was now a strange shape in the middle of Halo, a mirror he couldn't see the other side of. He stretched his hand towards it, surprised by the fact it went in before pulling his undamaged hand back. He stuck the same hand back in for a little longer before pulling it back out, still undamaged. The third time, however, he decided to walk in to see for himself what was happening, surprised by what he saw. He was in someplace he could only describe as 'in-between', seeing openings to other areas with labels on them. One of the labels, however, said the Hollowed Grounds and he stepped towards it...

...and so he finds himself stepping out into a nearly-abandoned area, scarred area with what looked like a black needle stretching up towards the sky. Realizing he was dedicated now, he took a deep breath before walking towards hopefully some form of civilization that formed among the damaged lands. Maybe, if he can get his hands on some, he could possibly see about starting to turn this place green with plantlife over time...
