Personality
Snarky and sarcastic, fun loving with a mean streak, yet constantly let down by a world that doesn't live up to her expectations. No regard for rules, well spoken for her age and a bit of a magpie who loves to pocket anything that catches her eye.
History
Ravenna Hale was born one starry night in early Deepfrost of the year 312 PC. Unlike many of the bastards born in the brothels of Torchline, Ravenna knew exactly who her father was. Or, to be precise, she knew the story her mother used to tell her. How a blue eyed raven had stolen into her bedchamber one stormy night, and turned into a handsome young man. He had played her music on a lute, such sweet and sorrowful tunes that it made her cry. And then he had kissed the tears away, and much more. When the sun rose, he disappeared out into the pale dawn, leaving behind only that beautifully enameled lute; and the beginning of a new life.
It was a pretty tale, but Venna stopped believing in stories around the same time she figured out what her mother did for work. The pretty baubles and occasional sweets that the many 'acquaintances' left her were not so lovely anymore, nor did she really like being at home. She began to sneak out, determined to find this Korbin Hale who had so charmed her mother, and make him take her away. Far away, anywhere at all. When she learned through street gossip that he had been dead for years, bitter disappointment made a home in her young heart. Drowned in the harbor, they said - did it to himself, some whispered. She believed them, and stopped waiting for someone to take her away.
She haunted the streets of Haulani instead. Ran barefoot with the other urchins and learned how to pick pockets and plunder trash heaps for scraps of food. She gained in popularity when magic woke in her and the learned how to create things; small knick-knacks and baubles that disappeared after a while but still bought them sugary treats and fried fish by the docks.
It wasn't much, but she knew nothing else.
Until a second moon appeared in the sky, in the year 317. Until a meteor crashed into the Arclight ocean soon after, and washed her world away.
