Appearance
Bronzed, tattooed skin stretches over a lean body with a fair amount of muscle. Thorn is built more athletic than anything else, a feat that he uses to his advantage in his line of work. Dark curly hair frames a face with high cheekbones where bright green-blue eyes hide under sharp dark brows. He's often found with a look of nonchalance about him, but don't let it fool you - he's calculating everything.
Has a tattoo of blooming flowers along his lower back, with vines that extend out over his hips, traveling up his torso from his sides. He also has a matching set of vines that wrap around his wrists like little shackles.
His ears are pierced, three times in the lobe per side, often adorned with silver jewelry.
He's relatively free of scars, excluding one that runs a small line underneath his left collarbone.
Personality
Thorn gives the sense of someone that's often quiet and watchful rather than brash and loud. He's the type to sit back and watch events unfold rather than be in the middle of it. Maybe that's an attempt at self preservation than anything else, but it's what he's good at. He's smart when he needs to be, and when he isn't working he's often found reading books to pass the time. He has a knack for architecture, too, but doesn't often indulge in it anymore. He prefers to listen to people's stories rather than return to adventuring.
History
A child born in the cold snows of Deepfrost from Halo, the young man became accustomed to just how cold the world could be. His parents still live there, though the young man wanted to explore - especially the more drawn to architecture he got. He wanted to learn about all kinds of ways the rest of Caido build their buildings to withstand their climates, and so it brought him all over the continent. Stormbreak excluded, of course, though he'd heard stories and seen the maps.
He started his adventures young, leaving Halo at sixteen. He spent a couple of years drifting from Torchline to the Hollowed Grounds, and all the places in between before finding himself drawn back to the warmth of Torchline - to at odds to what he was used to. It was about this time that he'd started getting involved with the Halenani in Torchline. It was easy work and Thorn found it freeing and fun, able to hear all kinds of stories from those that came in the doors and sought companionship. There were only a handful of times where the job had become a bit too much - thankful for the quick attention of the rest of the workers within the Halenani. And despite the sour batches he'd encountered, he didn't let it stop him from enjoying the work for what it was.
It's what kept him in the same position, ignoring the calling of architecture to live through people's stories. But he'd missed the snows of Halo that weren't quite sated enough when he visited his family twice a year (visiting only for his brother and his mother). And he'd heard the House of Midnight had opened and was looking for work, and it felt like a good compromise between the two of them. And so, there he went. And here he is, a quiet watcher, a great listener, and an even better performer.
It is not without it's familial problems, however. Thorn has a strained relationship with his father, who had been all too proud to have his son go off in search of becoming an architect. There's extreme disapproval over the sudden shift in careers, but Thorn pretends as though it doesn't bother him. Thorn's rule of thumb is that so long as he's happy and content, then that's all that matters.
