Criteria

The Character of the Season recognizes a character (not a player) who has been outstanding for that particular season. Reasons for nominations might include activity, IC character development, interesting plotting activity, or conflicts and IC drama!

		Remi Blurb lost forever. Womp Womp	Samuel Samuel Wordsworth is a natural ascended. He didn't choose the ascended life for himself and his daily struggles against the life he was forced into make him a dynamic and heart-wrenching character to read. Coming into his own recently, Sam has opened up his own shop, struck up some healthy friendships, began a whirl-wind womance, helped start the Loreseekers guild, and has found himself an adorable companion-cat!

Ronin Blurb lost forever. Womp Womp	Amalia Blurb lost forever. Womp Womp	Jigano Blurb lost forever. Womp Womp	Deimos With a long and complex history that extends years prior to his arrival in Caido, Deimos is one of the most well-rounded and well-written characters on the site. A man whose actions speak volumes but whose words, though few, are always precise and pointed, Deimos is a character whose indomitable presence has been part of revolutions, jail-breaks, rescue attempts, explorations, and one of the steamiest romances on the site. Kind and loyal to his friends, the Ressurected Sword as he has come to be called, is also one of the few hybrids on the site.

Wessex A natural ascended, a born leader, and a character who never shies away from making the shared (and usually unpopular) decisions, Wessex has proven herself time and time again to be a force who shouldn't be reckoned with. From standing up to the fae, leading the Hollowed Grounds as its queen, and becoming the first demi-god of the Voice during the site's history, whether Wessex will kill you, fuck you, or make you an ally always remains to be seen.	Sunjata Blurb lost forever. Womp Womp	Nate Arriving in Caido, Nate quickly made an impression for his charming wit and bluntness. An Accepted turned Ascended, he’s a doctor with a very hands-on approach in medicine, using unique Ascended upgrades to diagnose his patients when all else fails. A fervent supporter of anti-magic healing, Nate has his work cut out for him with the clinic he’s opened in Torchline. With a talent for getting in the middle of things when least expected, Nate certainly has an exciting future ahead of him! Did somebody say ex drama and goddess alignment questioning? We can’t wait to see where he goes from here.	Morgan Deepfrost has been an incredibly busy season for Morgan the Glacier, who rose from Captain of the Guard to Warden of Halo. From standing against cannibals to defending against cultists Morgan has proven her leadership and badassery time and time again. We are excited to see what changes to Halo her rule will bring!

Vervain Vai is known as a witch to some, healer to others, mother, friend, confidant, and even lover to a few. With a maternal side seemingly without end, do not let her kindness fool you: Vai is a force to be reckoned with. One of the strongest healers, Vai is nonetheless as deadly with her bow and arrow as she is capable with her magic. Having set down roots in Torchline with her son Felix, Vai continues to blaze her own trail forward off the beaten path, and we love her all the more for it.	Loren One of the first characters to come to Caido, Loren the Firebrand has experienced loss and change and come out stronger for it. From leaving his abusive family to pulling infection from the burning chest of a god, Loren's journey has been full of highs and lows, and we can't wait to see where the next seasons lead him!	Juniper Juniper is perhaps one of the best we’ve seen so far when it comes to living up to her diplomatic title. She’s adaptable, evident in how she’s taken on the Ascended for justice and vengeance for the Fae’s lost Mathair. She rides that tightrope well enough to not devolve it into straight out chaos, instead, taking the time to learn of the Ascended, to be able to take a full view of the world and what’s happening without drowning herself in it. She’s played such a key role this season in so much of the tension between whether or not war would break out between the Fae and the Ascended, and we can’t wait to see where she goes from here!	Aurelia It has taken a lot of adapting from when Aurelia arrived, but she’s managed to get herself into the middle of a lot of things! From annoying Jack and joining the Ark, to finding a new family within the smugglers of Torchline, and having to come to terms with the type of person she had been before arriving to Caido, Aurelia has made the most out of it all. We can’t wait to see where she goes from here!

Aisha Truly making a name for herself, this fiery woman’s found herself in the snowy land of Halo and has made quite the name for herself. An expert with swords, becoming a Deepfrost Shield, and even taking up the mantel of the guildmaster of the newest version of the Monster Hunter’s Guild. Aisha’s charismatic in the way that she seems to get along with everyone and she’s incredibly adept at caring for those that need it most despite that warrior heart of hers. We can’t wait to see where she goes from here!	Hotaru A rather polarizing figure, most are nonetheless drawn to Hotaru no matter which side of her magnetism they find themselves on. As an Outlander with a rich history, Hotaru is a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid of the consequences attached to getting it. As clever as she is beautiful and deadly, there is little able to stop Hotaru once she sets her sights on a goal. We can't wait to see what she does next!	Sah An Outlander from a world where he was once a winged wolf, he’s had to come to terms with a lot of the changes Caido brought to him. He’s taken it like a champ, though, getting into the middle of preparation for war, for choosing sides, for finding the good in the Old Gods despite his label of Abandoned. There is much for Sah to learn still, but it seems despite everything he can handle whatever it is that gets thrown at him. We can’t wait to see where she goes from here!	Maeve From starting out as a worker in the Halenani, to owner of the establishment, to Queen of Torchline and mother, Maeve has come a long way in what feels like a very short time. She’s found ways to make friends in powerful places, found a love for the gods again, and still manages to rule a corrupted region with surprising ease! We can’t wait to see what else she has on her plate as things grow a bit more tense in Caido.

Noah Hailing from the vast, cold tundra, Noah has been a frosty force to be reckoned with from the very beginning. But in recent times this Sentinel of the North has turned his attention further south, under the direction of none other than Vi himself. One of Caido's newest demigod has had plenty on his plate, from helping to acquire relics to strengthening friendships and even finding love. But make no mistake - you can take the man out of Halo, but you can never take Halo out of the man	Melita Mischievous, exuberant and fiery, where do we begin with this honeybee girl? Melita has had plenty of time to make her mark on Caido since being dropped unceremoniously into an unknown land, and she's done just that. Whether it's running on waves, manning the cannons (CANNONS!) on The Ark in Torchline, or channelling trickster gods in a pinch, there's never a dull moment with Mel and her vampire gourd, Fangorn. We can't wait to see what she gets up to next.	Isla Arriving in Caido having been a field medic, neither becoming an ascended, dying, being shoved into the body of a unicorn, nor being brought back to life has stopped Isla Lockwood's desire to help those around her. Now the Overseer of the Hollowed Grounds, Isla walks a fine line between preventing war from breaking out and doing what's best for her ascended-family and her citizens. With one of the fabled relics as her companion and a more than intimate knowledge of the threat facing her people, there are few better suited to lead the resistance against the old-gods.	Darkeye Arriving in Caido from a world not terribly different from this one, Darkeye has hit the ground running. From trying to document an unbiased account of the war, investigating murders and fighting landsharks, this former-dwarf hasn't let being a stranger in a strange land stop him from doing what he has thought best. Even though he has lived far longer than he looks, Darkeye still has many years to go (so long as one of the gods don't smite him for his fielty to his own god, Kor).

Talyson Need something delivered? Talyson. Need a laugh? Talyson. Need a hilarious thread to read? Talyson. Need your fill of puns? Talyson.  Hailing from a sea-faring clan who found themselves glacier-locked, Tal, his dragon companion, and his team of dogs now travel all over Caido delivering everything from cryptic messages to invaluable cargo. Trustworthy and clever, to think of Tal as nothing more than a courier would be a grave mistake.	Phoebe Phoebe, an Outlander, arrived in Caido while the Hollowed Grounds were still trapped beneath a barrier. Since that time she has had two husbands, birthed a son, continued to hone her skills as a midwife, ran her own medical clinic, became the madame of the brothel in Torchline, became a demigod for Frey, and created a Baby-Patch to facilitate the creation of children for those can not conceive on their own. Life has not always been easy for the Nightingale, and though she hasn't found her one true love yet, with Frey by her side she has overcome and triumphed where many would have faltered.	Hadama Hadama the Tidebreaker, King of the Merfolk. If there was ever one to achieve so much in such a short time, it would be this stoic and tenacious mermanta. From assisting in the creation of upgrades to benefit Torchline to defending the islands in their time of need, he has proven himself both reliable and trustworthy. While his promotion to leadership is relatively recent, we know he'll be great and we can't wait to see what he does next!	Edmund Polite yet feisty, mischievous yet fiercely devoted to the causes that matter to him most, Edmund may be young, but don't you underestimate him. This former Prince of Torchline has recently rocked the boat by becoming an Ancient and abandoning his mother's goddess, Safrin, for a new leading lady. How he navigates these turbulent waters may well be the making of him, and we can't wait to see what happens next!

Sohalia Don't let Sohalia's age fool you; this clever and kind Attuned has been stamping her mark on the world in her own way (which is to say without bloodshed, a rather novel idea in Caido). Having recently left the Hollowed Ground in search of adventure after the death of her parents, Sohalia has been accumulating friends of all sorts while relocating in Stormbreak. Watch this space - we can't wait to see where her curiosity takes her next!	Flora Vivacious, witty and absolutely gorgeous, there's a reason they call Flora Kaito-Taliesin the Doubletake. But don't get too distracted by her beauty - a sharp mind hides behind that lovely face, giving Flora connections in all the right places; indeed, she has many of Caido's most powerful names on speed-dial. Having recently taken ownership of The Hanged Man (and founding a Thieves' Guild from its back rooms), things certainly seem to be going right for this young Torcher. Oh, and did we mention her dad is totally a demigod? Because that's, like, a thing.	Koa Don't let this charming face and soldier's physique fool you into thinking that good looks are all this young dragoon has to offer. Taking on the revival of Stormbreak's dragoons singlehandedly and opening their ranks to include all races, Koa is helping to rehabilitate Stormbreak in the wake of the war by prioritizing safety and equality. Turning heads wherever he goes and embroiling himself in the sort of youthful love triangle befitting a telenovela, whatever Koa does next, he can be sure we'll all be on the edges of our seats and following along closely!	Dantalion Known as either Danta or the Maverick and almost never Dantalion, he's been leading the Hollowed Grounds with a personality as wild as his leadership style. Running the government from the back of a brothel, blending politics with a hint of nighttime mischief, Danta keeps everyone on their toes by flipping seamlessly from impulsive flirt to devilish predator. Beneath the charm lies a subtle mission—carving a haven for the Ancients in the Grounds. The past's a secret, but the future under Danta's rule promises a thrilling, blood-pumping ride.

Evie Warden of Halo, apothecarist, talented mage, monster hunter, and recently married to the Resurrected Sword - what isn't there to say about the Evergreen? Originally hailing from the Hollowed Grounds behind the barrier, Evie has come a long way since her humble beginnings, and she's now a fiery-haired force to be reckoned with throughout Halo and beyond. We can't wait to see what she does next	Maea From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!	Kiada From Attuned to Ascended to Ancient, Kiada Njovu-Reyes has been reborn several times throughout her short life, but her fighting spirit has never once been diminished. With beauty, grace and a quick wit, Kiada is the whole package wrapped in an infectious smile. Recent endeavours have found her in the heart of the Hollowed Grounds, aiding the region and bettering it for her new Ancient kin, and whatever she does next, we know it's sure to pack a punch. Astaroth Once known as the Butcher of Whitebrim, there is no question that Astaroth casts an intimidating silhouette. Tall, domineering and dangerous, if looks could kill you'd be dead already, but to get up close and personal with the Grounds' resident cannibal tells a much different story. Dripping with charm and clad in only the finest attire, Asta is a gentleman monster, as polite as they come and committed to his new role as security for the Dusklight. Be careful of that smile, though - those teeth are sharp.	Zavien Perhaps the closest equivalent of Caido’s golden retriever energy, Zavien has been the light in an otherwise patch of darkness. Always putting others first, working hard at being a Dragoon and helping Stormbreak thrive in kindness, and always being optimistic, Zavien’s outlook is refreshing and wonderful even with drama and terrible things occurring around him. He always has something helpful to say and a willingness to lend a hand that makes it so fun to keep up with him and we can’t wait to see what else comes his way.	Jack Jack Barclay is Torchline’s most notorious smuggler—sharp-tongued, maddeningly unreadable, and devastatingly effective when it suits him. With storm-blue eyes and dark hair perpetually tousled by sea wind, he wears danger like a second skin and never gives more than he means to. He speaks in clipped sentences, keeps his motives locked tighter than the Ark's hold, and somehow always gets the last word—even when you didn’t realize there was a conversation happening. If you trust him, you're probably a fool. If you love him, you definitely are.	Alys Wild, untamed and yet remarkably patient and compassionate, Alys Glasse has quickly become Caido's most prolific fortune teller. She might be small in stature, but her heart is as big as they come, and in recent times especially, she has developed a (magical) knack for tapping into the trickiest of all life's facets: emotions. With divination and tarot cards in her arsenal as well as a whole host of other arcane talents, whilst we don't know what comes next for Alys, the odds are good that she certainly does.

Elizabeth Although she resides in Caido’s coldest region, Elizabeth is as warm as they come. Gentle, compassionate, and with a genuine care for people that’s all too rare in such tumultuous times, her healing comes not from magic (though she has that in abundance as well!) but in her patience, kindness and willingness to help through her practice of therapy. People like Elizabeth are a rarity and in remarkably short supply, and Halo especially is very lucky to have her!	Thalassa Sharp, cunning, and brazen are just a few ways to describe this mer-turned Ancient. Having no recollection of her past, it doesn’t seem to cause too many issues with the captain of the Marauder as she navigates her life. With those that don’t know her, she can come off intense and standoffish, but when you get beneath the surface you will find someone who cares immensely for her friends with a fiery passion that could rival even the lava pits of the Climb.	Kaisel If enthusiasm were a weapon, Kaisel would’ve conquered Caido by now. A rising star among the Dragoons, he’s equal parts overachiever and chaos incarnate, bounding into every task with a grin too wide and energy too big to be contained. He says yes before he asks how, helps before he knows what’s needed, and talks like the silence might bite him if he lets it settle. But beneath the golden-retriever charm and nervous jokes is a genuinely kind soul with a spine of steel, ready to fight for what’s right—even if he occasionally trips over his own sword doing it.	Theea What do you get when two ruthless assassins raise their daughter travelling through the wildest reaches of Caido? Take one look at Theea and you'll get a pretty good idea. Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!
