And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. The day had barely begun and already there was fuckery afoot. Afeet? Maybe afeet was better, given that the beast prowling up Torchline's shores had more than the usual four, especially if you counted all the tentacles.
With a roar reminiscent of Apopo's past eruptions, loud enough to wake even the heaviest of sleepers who have tried to hide away from Longheat beneath their sheets, the giant feline prowled up Torchline's coast leaving an ominous purple haze in its wake. Standing nearly three meters tall at the shoulder, the imprints left by its paws leave deep recesses in the sand, and where the waves wash up to cover them, the water groans and begins to instantly freeze.

Having been in the unfortunate position to see the sea panther coming from his place standing along the coastline, Jack peels himself away from Flora with little more than a parting squeeze of her shoulder and sets off at a run. It's true that it's very unlike the captain to run towards danger rather than away from it, but it doesn't take much for his quick mind to realise that he's too far from The Ark to get to her in time to make a difference.
Not unless he intends to take her into the skies and leave Torchline to her fate. (Which, once upon a time, he would absolutely have done - but not any more, and not now).
Electricity already crackles in the air around him, and Jack skids to a stop only once he's just in range of the creature before unleashing an arc of lightning directly towards it. Ordinarily he's more for subterfuge and thinking things through before going directly on the offensive. Ordinarily, though, there isn't a void infected panther prowling up the beach.
And so as opening gambits go, it's an ambitious one.

This was precisely the nonsense Flora had been trying to avoid by getting Torchline's regional quest over and done with before any more void shenanigans could wash up on their shores. "Fuck off." The queen yells at the void panther, doubting it would do much good, but if nothing else, screaming helped rid her of some of the nervous energy built up over the past few moments with Jack as well as the jog up the beach.
Having thought she'd not see the captain again until the dust (sand) had settled, the telepath would no doubt feel the queen's surprise (and reservations, given how well things had gone with the boggart) to see him in attendance, and aiming...wait, was that lightning? at the giant feline. "Since when?" She huffs rhetorically before edging toward the panther herself to get in range.
Removing one of her daggers, Flora aims it at one of the creature's tentacles and throws.
Flora has everything on her profile except for Spice! She gets within 30ft of the panther and throws a poisoned dagger.

With a compass and teleportation magic, there were few places in Caido Noah couldn’t get to. His wife was well aware of that fact, so when she got a hankering for a certain meal she ate in Torchline many, many years ago, she had no qualms against sending her husband there. Before dawn.
But he would have to apologize to her later, because as a roar ripped across the land that rivaled the volcanoes, Noah dropped all of the groceries.
The monstrous beast was unmistakably void, and as it rose from the waters and crashed towards the more populated parts of Torchline, Noah’s hatred grew and grew. He charged down the beach and was aware of the placement of others that did as well. Then he struck, sending his stag towards the ambling beast already with lightning and weaponry assaulting.
Noah attacks using spirit stag. He has everything except his companions.
Magic: Spirit Stag | Can summon the spirit of a mighty stag; an echo of Noah's former shift. This will last for 1 post per thread and appears to be made of pure sunlight. Noah can direct the stag to charge at a target, dealing fire damage and causing disadvantage on their next roll.

I’ll Of course an attack happens when he’s on vacation. Spotting the clearly void infected panther and the group attacking, Sah races over.
It’s a relief to see Noah but he’s definitely wary of using lightning in front of Flora and this stranger likely Torchline. But it’s one of his strongest and most experienced magics. Sentiments are worthless when there’s a threat to eliminate. And the stranger is also using lightning so Sah doesn’t hold back.
The Wild Thunder send out a bolt of lightning aimed at the beast’s chest as he skids to a stop beside Noah. Hopefully this time they can coordinate better than their last void encounter.

As Michael Scott once said, over the gums and through the lips, look out stomach... here we go..
Taking his lightning out for a test drive, as electricity snarls from Jack 's fingers, it tangles around the panther quite nicely. Flora 's feather finds a home in the creature's flank, and as Noah unleashes his stag, the fire-fiery deer also slams against the giant cat. To round things off, Sah's amplified lightning sizzles over the panther. Things are looking rather hopeful given the way the void beast staggers to the side, and if all the rounds go as smoothly as this, hopefully, Torchline's healing waters won't run red with the blood of this group.
With a snap of its tail(s), the creature suddenly vanishes, appearing abruptly at Noah 's side. Snapping its teeth, perhaps dazed somewhat by the fire-bright after images of the Foresaken's stag, the giant feline's bite misses the hunter. Even so, the swirls of void energy that linger in its wake chill Noah to the bone, a feeling he's experienced previously. It will have his knees buckling, his sense of purpose and determination all but flowing out of him, before the creature abruptly vanishes and appears (30 ft) farther up the beach.

There's a lot of lightning all of a sudden, and while Flora's mind doesn't immediately jump to what had happened with Melita (soz), she'd lived by the water long enough to know that water and electricity don't mix. Had no one heard the stories about Deimos, Sunjata, and the other fucking sea panther??
Happy as she is for her dagger to have hit, with the creature now up the beach, Flora had no chance of recalling it unless she was closer.
Cue the meme of "actually, you should hear this too", because you should hear it too, Sah. "Air magic." The queen shouts toward Jack; unless he'd also picked up some gravity magic when he was "shaking hands with Safrin", it was going to be the thing that was most useful against the void, much fun as he seemed to be having with his lightning.
"We can't let it get any closer to Haulani." Flora yells, already sprinting after the beast. If the panther was going to be teleporting all over the place, they'd need to find a way to keep its attention on them. "Hey asshole," she calls, before flinging another dagger.
Flora runs to get back into range and throws another dagger.

Aware of two new blooms of consciousness appearing within the range of his magic, Jack barely has time to register Noah or Sah or the fact that he hasn't seen either of their faces on Torchline's shores before. (Not personally, anyway). Instead, offering a very quick shrug to Flora that communicates we'll talk about it later, the captain's focus swings back to the Void Sea Panther.
And gods, it almost starts out suspiciously well, such that even as the creature teleports towards the Forsaken and then away again, as Jack feels no pain from the other man, he realises they've all likely gotten incredibly lucky. Air magic, though - that's what Flora's shouting.
And for once in his life, the captain follows someone else's orders.
Setting off after the Doubletake, he lets the sparks die from his fingertips and from within his mind, pulling at a much older and more well-used thread of magic. Hoping that Flora's shout will get its attention, Jack lashes out at it with a blast of concentrated air.
Jack runs after Flora, waiting until he's back in range of the beast before whipping at it with his Air Manipulation!

Suddenly the beach had more familiar faces than not (looking at you, Jack), and Noah felt a surge of hope spark through his hatred for this void infestation. His stag ran and the attack was true—but before he could even blink, the mega-void-panther was in his face. Noah scrambled to avoid the creature’s attack, back but it didn’t stop the cold and dread from seeping in.
His heart pounded against his chest as the familiar darkness spread over his body. He sucked in a breath that shook every cell on its way in and tried its best to expand his lungs despite the frigid grasp of the void. Instinct, powerful instinct, and nothing else but a reaching for the greatest safety he knew. Vi’s power ripped from him in a mighty, brilliant dome.
Noah uses divine opposition. Sorry no one needs to be healed.

It’s incredibly satisfying to see his lightning strike the beast alongside everyone else’s attacks. If they keep this pressure up, Sah hopes that they can take it down quickly.
Flora don’t respond to his presence (phew) but she definitely has a point about not using lightning. It dawns on Sah that they’re on the ocean and it’s too risky.
Despite not being visibly injured, Noah was clearly shaken so he can only assume that proximity has a negative effect. But then the panther *moves* in the blink of an eye. Tge Wild Thunder really hopes it’s not actually teleporting.
Sah races forward to stay just in range and tries to slow it’s movement by sending a wave of telekinesis down on its head.

Another of Flora's daggers finds its way into the Void creature's side, though as she's joined by Jack, the creature is able to dodge his blast of air with uncanny speed. As Noah 's dome of celestial light spreads out, precisely...nothing happens. No one is healed, no one is harmed. The Void Sea Panther, a proper beast of the void not unlike what might be found on Starfall, only snarls at the shimmer of celestial light. Without anything for Sah 's magic to grab ahold of, his telekenesis does nothing.
Setting it's sights upon Jack, the creature disappears and appears at his side. Roaring, its tentacles slam against the abandoned, sapping his strength and lifting him off the ground. As it disappears and reappears even farther up the beach, the captain will drop to the ground and find himself covered in large round purple welts.

Near enough to Jack to have to scramble out of the way as the Void Sea Panther appeared at his side, the queen forced her concern for the captain to the back of her mind for a moment as she rounded on Sah and Noah.
"Air you fucking idiot! I said air." She screamed at Sah. Where at least she'd felt the blast of Jack's air magic and had seen the sand billow from where he'd missed, the Wild Thunder appeared to have just stared at the beast and done fuck all. "Gods, I haven't even been at the stupid meetings and I know that!" Glaring, Flora's gaze fell onto Noah. "Do something useful or you can both fuck off out of here." She snapped, cheeks flushed. She wasn't going to be held responsible for Noah and Sah getting themselves killed in her region, not when they'd both been in attendance for enough of the Let's Do Void Shit meetings to fucking know what worked and what didn't.
Please be okay. Flora thinks at Jack, before adding, I can't let that thing get away.

Jack doesn't think he's ever been properly grabbed and yeeted by anything before. And to no one's surprise, the captain is not a fan of it. Still, as the air is driven from his lungs and the ground disappears from beneath him entirely, he's nothing if not used to the idea of falling correctly. Hitting the sand in a roll, it's with a grimace of pain that he scrambles back to his feet with Flora's shouts echoing in his ears and her thoughts in his head.
"It can't get into Haulani," he wheezes - he assumes it will run into the barrier if it gets that far across the coast. It can get to The Ark, though, and that won't fucking stand.
And so, without even a glance towards Noah and Sah, the captain sets off again, the air around him whirling with the force of his magic before he sends another blast towards the panther.
Jack would very much like to use his Citizenship Ability to shrug half the damage off that last attack, please. He also goes after the creature again and, when in range, uses his air magic on it again.
Torchline: Torchline has taught you to survive her weather and her terrain. Once per PQ/PQ+/KQ/Drop, you can 'shrug off' half the damage from ONE non-lethal attack. Noah’s mind whirled as he tried to regain his composure. The panther did not seem to be harmed and injured the same way that the ursur had by his magic. Confusion burst in white hot spikes that burned away at the cold the void left within him. He could hear someone barking at him, but the voice was fuzzy. It was probably good for all of them that the voice was fuzzy and Noah couldn’t make out what Flora was saying, or else he might have some choice inward thoughts about how she needed to shut up. But he couldn’t understand her, totally, except that she was barking like a dog.
He knew they needed to stop the creature from getting to the town. There were people there, too many lives, and there could be no risks. Surging back to himself as much as he could, the demigod took off running towards the panther. Mid-run, the amulet against his chest burned and from demigod to basilisk he was. Giant, massive, and angry Noah took up more space on the beach than he ever had before. Then, he tried to use his massive body to strike out at the panther with his tail. He wanted to harm it, but he also wanted it to turn and look at him and take its attention off the city.
Noah runs towards the creature and when he is close enough he shifts into a basilisk and attacks.
